Birdhouses                                               

   You don’t have to be an ornithologists or birder to enjoy birds!  Not only is it fun to see various bird species flying around your backyard, but the sounds they make are delightful.  Birds will make their nests in branches, bushes, and barrels.  But if you really want to encourage them to make your backyard their home, buy a bird house, also called a nesting box.

Uniquely decorated bird houses can be found for various types of birds, including bluebird, wren, and purple martin.  You can find small single family dwellings or multiple family birdhouses.  While lighthouse and Victorian bird houses remain particularly popular, you can find bird houses made of resin, gourds, and wood in a wide range of styles, natural wood designs, and painted colors.  Then, too, you could make one of your own design!
